Dr. Joe Bob Warren was born in San Angelo on September 21, 1927. He practiced dentistry in Midland for 30 years before returning to San Angelo to live in his childhood home and manage the family ranch between Bronte and Robert Lee. From 1953 to 1955, Joe Bob Warren served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps and was stationed in Berlin, Germany. He left the service as a 1st Lieutenant. Central to his life was the Masonry brotherhood. Joe Bob Warren joined the Masons in 1952. He held dual memberships in Lodge 570 and Lodge 1260. He was a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite Temple in Dallas, Texas (1956), and a 50 year member of the Shrine. Dr. Warren will be buried at Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas, with his parents Callie Mae and Dr. Richard James Warren. Dr. Warren is survived by his lifelong friend, Vesta Kerley, his daughter Diana Withen, of Wise, VA, with grandchildren Khalial and Damian, as well as his daughter, Rev. Kaki Friskics-Warren of Nashville, TN, with grandson Marshall. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Robert Massie Funeral Home on Friday, September 25. A Masonic funeral will follow at the graveside at 2:00 p.m., Friday September 25, 2009, at Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, TX. Officiating the graveside service will be Rev. Bill Proctor, of First Presbyterian Church in San Angelo. The family requests no flowers.
