Mike Davis, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in San Angelo. Mike was born October 20, 1954 in Abilene, Texas to Eddie and Jane Davis. In 1965, the family moved to San Angelo, where Mike graduated from Central High School and attended ASU. Mike started with the San Angelo Police Department in 1977 and retired honorably after 27 years. Mike was passionate about being a police officer, conducting himself in an unbiased manner while maintaining honesty and integrity. If a fellow officer needed backup, Mike was ready and willing. He enjoyed his job and working with his brothers and sisters in blue. He was notorious for giving everyone nicknames. His fellow officers knew him as "Blue Duck", a practical joker and very opinionated. Under his body armor was the softest heart a man could have, that his family and close friends knew. Mike loved hunting, fishing, horses and being at the ranch along with his family and friends. He had one wardrobe; his black shirts. He died how & where he would've wanted to be, in the country. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Edward R. Davis and his son, Taylor Davis. Mike is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cindy Davis; daughters; Alex Davis, Alison Arrington; son, Ryan Lupton and wife, Holly; grandchildren, Brayden Leverett (Baby J) and Liv Lupton (Bear Cub); mother, Jane Davis; brother, Jeff Davis and wife, Alicia and special nieces Jessica and Stephanie Huntley; sister, Kelly Renfro and extended family. Per Mike's adamant request there will be no public service. The family will have a private memorial service with a celebration of life at a later date to spread his ashes at one of his favorite locations. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to your favorite charity be made. Family and friends are encouraged to view Mike's memorial video on RobertMassie.com
