Edelmiro "Miro" Estrada ,54, of San Angelo passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 surrounded by friends and family.
Viewing will be from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Robert Massie Funeral Home with visitation from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Israel Flores, pastor at Bethel Assembly of God, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Estrada was born on February 14, 1969 to Juan and Josefina Lara Estrada. Miro moved to Eden with family in 1984 and started working odd jobs around town. His love for cooking started when he moved to Ballinger to be a chef at Simply Taylors restaurant. Miro honed his skills there for 15 years. Over the next few years, he was a chef at Snyder Country Club. In 1993 he moved to San Angelo to be the chef at Bentwood Country Club and at City Café. For the last bit of his life, he worked at Lone Star Beef for over 20 years. Miro never lost his love for cooking. On annual family trips to Garner State Park, he would cook all day while everyone else was relaxing and enjoying the river. Miro loved listening to music, being the life of the party, and keeping everyone laughing. He married the love of his life Maria Montantez on October 24, 1987 in San Angelo
He is preceded in death by his mother, Josefina Lara.
Miro is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maria; three sons, Nelson Estrada, Ivan Estrada, and Noel Estrada all of San Angelo; his father, Juan Estrada, Sr. of Monterey, Mexico; two brothers, Juan Estrada, Jr. and wife Pat and Lionel Estrada all of San Angelo; three sisters, Alma Roman of San Angelo, Daisy Estrada and husband Martin Garcia, Dirna Estrada, and Erica Estrada and husband Juan all of Monterey, Mexico; and one grandson, Noel Estrada, Jr. of Ft. Worth.
