Edward (Eddie) Davis, 86, was born April 9, 1930 in Detroit MI. to Ira and Florence Davis. At the age of 2, his family came back to live on the family farm in Trent, Texas. He joined the Navy at 17 and served three years and loved his time in the Navy. He came home and began his 41year career at West Texas Utilities Power plant. The first 13 years in Abilene and then he was transferred to San Angelo Power Station as a shift supervisor. He retired in 1992 and had a great career with WTU. Eddie loved cars and was a very good mechanic and loved collecting knives and watches. He was known for his value of work ethic and always doing what he said he would do. Although he was a quiet man and did not talk a lot, he was an honest, hardworking man and was respected by all who knew him. Pallbearers will be sons; Jeff and Mike Davis, grandson Ryan Lupton, former co-workers, Edward Sanchez, Manuel Sanchez and nephew, T. L. Wrinkle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Bruner, Thomas Rose and the men of the Heritage Department of the Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Taylor Davis. Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jane, two sons, Mike (Cindy)Davis of San Angelo, Jeffery (Alicia) Davis of Miles; daughter, Kelly Dawn Renfro of Cisco; granddaughters, Alex Davis of San Antonio, Heather Couch of Cisco, Jessica Davis of Miles, Alison Nunemaker of San Angelo, Stephanie Huntley of San Diego; grandsons, Brandon Couch of Snyder, Ryan Lupton of San Angelo and six great grandchildren. Family visitation will be held 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, January 30, 2017 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at The Heights Baptist Church, with Dr. James A. Miller, Pastor Mark Shaw, associate pastor and Neil Conner co-officiating. Burial will take place at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the West Texas Boys Ranch or Big D Bible ministries at The Heights Baptist Church.
