Eileen Barry Waddell, teacher and editor, passed away on December 19, 2008 at Meadow Creek Nursing Center in San Angelo, Texas, after a long illness. A Rosary and family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday December 22, 2008 at Meadow Creek Nursing Center in San Angelo. Mrs Waddell graduated from San Angelo Senior High School, Bernard College, the Graduate Facilities of Arts and Sciences of Columbia University, and Angelo State University. She taught in public schools in Maryland, New York, and Texas. She was an administrator at two Catholic schools in Texas. She was the managing editor of the psychiatric medical journal, INTERACTION. Mrs. Waddell was a volunteer with the St. John's and Shannon Auxiliaries. She was a member of the San Angelo Art Club until her sight deteriorated and a member of the Newtimers Club. She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Waddell of San Angelo, a son Christopher Waddell and wife Theresa of Arlington, Virginia; grandsons, Will, Paul and Sean Waddell of Arlington, Virginia; a brother-in- law Dr. Dominic Bausano of Detroit, Michigan; nieces, nephews and cousins including Sr. Brigid Mollaghan CCVI. She was blessed with many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. Douglas Barry of San Angelo, her sister Sheila Barry Bausano of Detroit, Michigan, and by her friend and former husband, Professor W.M. Anthony Waddell of Virginia. Mrs. Waddell appreciated the excellent care provided by the nursing staff at Meadow Creek Nursing Center, Dr. Hunt, the third floor nursing staff at San Angelo Community Medical Center and the doctors and nurses at West Texas Renal Care in her final months.
