Elizabeth "Liz" Montelongo Jio, 53 of San Angelo died Tuesday, October 18, 2011, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Elizabeth "Liz" was born on September 27, 1958 to Arturo and Ofelia (Perez) Bastardo. Liz lived life to the fullest. She was an incredible grandmother to her grandchildren. We'll never forget how she could sew anything and ironed everything. Robert and Liz enjoyed having date night on Friday nights when they would go to Outback for tilapia and steak then watch a movie. Always a kid at heart, she also loved playing her game boy (her grandkids got her hooked)! As much as she yelled at "Dollar" everyday she took care of him and any other creatures that Ryan would bring home. Her grandchildren were very special to her especially her grandson Ryan. Ryan was her world and what she lived for, he felt the same way about his "Lizard". Her granddaughter Klarissa was always her princess. RJ loved his grandma's home cooked meals. The love Liz had for the grandchildren will never be forgotten...she was their ray of sunshine! She is preceded in death by her father Arturo Bastardo. Survivors include her husband Robert F Jio Sr., daughters, Rosie Montelongo, Elfia Bastardo all of San Angelo. Sons, Robert F Jio Jr. and Mario Jio, both of Odessa. Grandchildren Jordan Ryan Jio-Maxwell, Klarissa Jio, Amber Hamilton all of San Angelo and Robert James Jio of Dallas. She also leaves behind ; mother Ofelia Bastardo; sisters Tommie Jean Montelongo, Diamond Diaz both of San Angelo, and Elfia Sanchez of Waco; brothers Johnny Perez and wife Amy, Joe Perez, Edward Montelongo, Raymond Bastardo and wife Sylvia all of San Angelo, and Jerry Montelongo of Amarillo.
