Elva L. Harper, 83, of Mansfield, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2014 in Mansfield, TX. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 3, 2014 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Robert Massie Funeral Home, San Angelo, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014, 11:00 am at the Apostolic House of Worship, San Angelo, Texas, with Pastor Tim Wood, officiating. Burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Derek Lee Harper, Michael Terry Harper, James Dunbar, Billie James Wayne, Howard Vaughn, and Kendall Wood. Honorary pallbearer will be Louis Mendoza Jr. She was born on March 6, 1931 to Claude and Ettie (Dunn) Hall at Brown County, Texas. Elva worked in the composition department for San Angelo Standard Times retiring in 1996. She married Earl Dean Harper in 1948 and they shared 48 wonderful years together until his death on November 15, 1996. She was a member of Mansfield Senior Center. She loved to play cards and bingo and take trips with the seniors. Elva was a very spiritual person. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Henry Lee Hall. Elva is survived by her, son, Mike Harper and wife, Vicki of Mansfield, TX., two daughters, Sandra Denton and husband, Doug of San Angelo, TX, and Dierdre Harper of Marlin, TX; three brothers, Alvin Hall and wife, June of Brownwood, TX, Ancil Hall of Bangs, TX, George Ray Hall of San Angelo, TX; eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, five nieces and five nephews
