Esther Bernice "Bea" Williams Bishop Muehlbrad, after a brief illness, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, March 25, 2013. The daughter of a Denton County farming family, "Bea" was born May 6, 1918 in Lewisville, Texas. During her younger years and the Great Depression she grew up in the farming communities of Flower Mound, Spur, and Eola, Texas. Bea attended school in Eola, Texas and met her future husband, Floyd Odell Bishop, at a baseball game in Eola. Floyd and Bernice married June 9, 1934. A son Walton Ray Bishop was born "Mother's Day" 1937 in San Angelo, Texas. The family lived in San Angelo until Floyd was drafted into the Army in World War II. When Floyd returned from World War II, the family continued to live in San Angelo where a second son, Hollis Jay Bishop was born. After a lengthy illness with Leukemia and Hodgkin's disease, Floyd passed away February 1957. After Floyd's death, "Bea" married Clarence Norbert Muehlbrad in January 1959, they moved to Odessa, Texas, where a son Roger K. Muehlbrad was born. After Clarence's death in November 1997, Bernice moved back to San Angelo, Texas. "Bea" was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Floyd Bishop, and Clarence Muehlbrad, sister Ola Mae Knight, brother Fred C. Williams, and favorite niece, Mildred Lackey. "Bea" was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church in Odessa and Hill Crest Baptist Church in San Angelo. "Bea" is survived by her sons, Ray Bishop and wife, LaQuita of San Angelo, Hollis Bishop and wife Dolores of Burleson, Texas, Roger Muehlbrad and wife Sharon of Weatherford, Texas; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, three nephews and their wives. The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the attendants at Shannon ER, Drs. Russwurm, Buchanan, Vanderzant, all the nurses and staff on sixth floor stroke unit at Shannon Hospital. Also many thanks to the nurses and staff at Regency House and Lighthouse Hospice. Graveside Service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals For the Elderly or your favorite charity.
