Ethel Marie Leathers Ethel Marie Duncan Leathers, 88, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Rotary House of Hope at Baptist Retirement Community. Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Robert Massie Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Earnest Brown of Keifer, Oklahoma officiating. Inurnment will follow at 4:00 pm Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Harriett Community Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Ethel was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on February 21, 1924 and lived in northeast Oklahoma until 2005 when she moved to Texas due to health issues. Ethel married J.D. Duncan in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1960. She later married Raleigh Leathers who also preceded her in death in 1993. She lived in the Adair, Oklahoma community for the majority of her life and was a member of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church. She retired from Eastern State Hospital in 1986. She enjoyed all aspects of the farm work, being outside and helping others. She was known for her knitting of house shoes that are now on feet all over the world. Survivors are her son Gary Duncan and wife Joyce of the family home in Harriett, Tx; her daughter Joyce Koscheski and husband Al of Arlington, Tx; three grandchildren, Connie Koscheski Kramer and husband Kevin of Montgomery, Tx, David Duncan of Harriett and Col. Michael Koscheski and wife Jolisa of Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, North Carolina; one great granddaughter Caroline Koscheski of Goldsboro NC. The family would like to thank Dr. Flynn and Dr. Barnett for their medical care and their support to the family during her brief illness. Thanks to the care and support of Baptist Hospice staff and House of Hope nursing staff. Memorials may be made to the Rotary House of Hope at Baptist Retirement Community in San Angelo.
