Eugene Dale Miller

Eugene Dale Miller, 97 passed away on Friday February 9, 2018. He was a loving husband and father and longtime member and deacon at First Baptist Church; he taught 2nd grade Sunday School for over 25 years. He was born in De Leon on Sept 4, 1920 to Earnest "Earn" and Cleo Miller. He was a graduate of Lake View High School and San Angelo Junior College where he attended on a basketball scholarship. He joined the Air Force in 1942 to serve in WWII. He was a bombardier on a B-26 where he flew 77 missions over Italy. Discharged from active duty as a 1st Lieutenant and remained in the Air Force Reserve Program and retired as a Major in 1980. He married Louise Davis on Sept. 23, 1944 in San Angelo, TX. He is preceded in death by his son, Don Miller and a grandson, Christopher Milhauser. He is survived by his wife, Louise; son; David (Kay) Miller; daughter, Mary (David) Milhauser; grandchildren are Rachel Miller and husband, John Faulkenbury, Shawn (Carrie) Miller and Matthew (Mache') Milhauser and great grandsons; Corbin Miller and Maxwell Milhauser. Viewing will be 1:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday February 11, 2018 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral will be 2:00pm Monday February 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. James Hassell, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to go to First Baptist Church in memory of Dale Miller, or your favorite charity.
