F.W. "Bud" Word, 82, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024, in San Angelo.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Sherwood Cemetery with Pastor Mark Krause, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Word was born on October 25, 1941 in Cameron to Clayton and Bertha (Balkum) Word. He lived in Mertzon until moving to San Angelo. He was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and worked in the oil and gas industry as a roughneck for more than 40 years. Bud was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and loved to talk about politics with anyone who would listen.

Survivors include his beloved great-nephew, Chuck Kuykendall and wife Deanna of McKinney; and many friends including, Tim Worley, Adam Rubalcaba, and James Wimberly all of San Angelo. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bitsy Word; a niece, Vickie Kuykendall; and great-nephew, Lonnie Kuykendall.
