Francisco "Frank" B. Duenas, 89, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, in San Angelo.

Public viewing will from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10:00 AM Monday, December 19, 2022, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mertzon with Father Anthony Franco, officiating. Burial will follow at Mertzon Cemetery with military honors afforded by the US Navy Honor Guard under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Duenas was born October 30, 1933 in Jalisco, Mexico to Manuel and Isabel Duenas. Frank was raised in Arizona. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. and later re-enlisted into the US Navy serving in the Korean War and the Vietnam War retiring in 1973. Frank was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received during battle. While Frank was stationed in San Diego, he met and married Mary Razo in San Diego. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2020. Frank was a resident of Mertzon for over 30 years. Frank was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He loved listening to music in his truck and watching and reading western books.

Survivors include, Michael "Jay Dee" Duenas of Mertzon, Melissa Vasquez of Killeen, Yolanda Duenas of San Angelo, Shyanna Duenas of Killeen, Jasmine Rana of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Michael Duenas, Jr. of Simpsonville, South Carolina; three sisters, Amilia Kendzie, Elisa Bracamonte both of Tuscan, Arizona, and Josephine Bottega of New York; and eight grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death his parents, two brothers, Joe Duenas, and Manuel Duenas; and a sister, Virginia Lopez.
