Fred Solis Cortez

Fred Solis Cortez, 72, of San Antonio passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in a San Antonio Hospital. Family visitation will be from 5pm-7pm on Friday, June 19, 2015 followed by a Rosary at 7pm in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joey Faylona officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Fred was born on February 10, 1943 to Esteban and Rafel (Solis) Cortez in Brady, Texas. He married Sara Moreno on February 5, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas. Pallbearers are Johnny Moreno Jr., Benny Moreno, Joe Moreno, George Cortez, Sammy Cortez and Joe Valdez. Survivors include his wife, Sara Cortez of San Antonio; daughter, Marylou Delarosa and her husband Able of San Antonio; daughter Loriann Powers and her husband John of San Antonio; son, Patrick Cortez and his wife Victoria of Plano; Veronica Trevino and her husband Robert of San Antonio; sister, Janie Valdez of Irving; twelve grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
