Fred "Freddy" Enriquez Dietz, Jr. age, 53, died on Monday, November 6, 2017, in San Angelo, Texas. He was born January 24, 1964, in San Angelo, Texas. After graduating from high school, Freddy served as a city jailor at the age of 18. A year later, he was hired as a police officer, where he served alongside his father, Fred. E. Dietz, Sr. Freddy touched the lives of many students while he was a D.A.R.E. officer for many years in San Angelo and the surrounding areas. He loved his job and serving his community. He was named officer of the year and Patrol Supervisor of the year in 2016. Freddy was also devoted to his family. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father and grandfather. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and he loved the Lord. Survivors include his son, Fred. E. Dietz, III. and his wife, Laure of Coahoma; daughter, Kyrstan Dietz of Denver, CO; parents, Fred and Odelia (Sosa) Dietz; sister, Sandra Lomas and her husband, Jake of Abilene; sister, Lorraine Campos and her husband, Steve; beloved grandsons, Ian and Brewer Dietz, who loved their "Pops"; numerous nieces and nephews who loved their "Uncle Hockey"; his beloved girlfriend, Brenda Morales; and his Brothers and Sisters in Blue. A rosary will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 7 pm. The funeral service will take place at The Junell Center, Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 11 am with the burial following at Belvedere Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Alex Nevarez, Paul Dyer, Matthew Vaughan, Matt Baldwin, Les Bird, Todd Dornhecker "Teddybear", Irma Rodriguez and Debbie Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Selger, Andrew Morin, Jerry Montelongo, Enrique "Ricky" Medellin, Herberto Medellin, and Bobby Segler. Though he was small in stature, he loved enormously! His compassion, kindness, generosity, laughter, and huge smile will always be remembered. "And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved son: hear him." Luke 9:35
