GENO MENDEZ (VEVA) FLORES

Our Loving Mother, Genoveva (Veva) Mendez Flores, 73 of San Angelo died Tuesday November 20, 2007 at an area hospital. Rosary will be 7:00 PM Friday November 23, 2007 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday November 24, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Quirino Cornejo, officiating. Burial will follow at the Miles Cemetery. Veva was born October 18, 1934 in Bronte, Texas to Antonio and Manuela Samaniego Mendez. She was a housewife and was married to Porfirio Enriquez Flores Sr. on January 17, 1954. She is preceded in death by her husband, Porfirio Sr. and one daughter, Elva Flores Harrison. She is survived by her four sons; James and his wife, Diana Flores of San Angelo, Steve and his wife, Amy Flores of Dallas, Mike and his wife, Sabrina Flores of Houston, and Porfirio Jr. and his wife, Cenny of San Angelo and a daughter; Olga and her husband, Scott Finneran of Austin. A brother; Daniel Mendez and a sister; Consuelo Casarez, both of Miles, TX. Grandchildren; Stacy June Lopez, Porfirio (T.C.) Flores III, Erik Flores, Chandler Flores, Julian Flores, Isaias Flores, Amora Flores, Mallory Sanders, Caton Sanders, Josh Flores, Jonathan Flores, Jared Flores, and five great-grandchildren; Brittney Harrison, Daniel Flores, Faith Lopez, Mattie Flores and Porfirio (T.J.) Flores IV., and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who have sought and received her love, support and humor throughout her life. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her nieces and nephew, Bea Aguero, Annie Mendez Ramirez and Carlos Martinez for all their help and love during the most difficult times. Pallbearers will be Porfirio Flores Jr., Mike Flores, Steve Flores, James Flores, Porfirio (T.C.) Flores III., Josh Flores, Caton Sanders and Erik Flores. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Great-Grandsons. The family wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the patient and kind medical guidance and support provided by Dr. Emmette (Buddy) Flynn and Dr. Anthony De Mory. In addition; we deeply appreciate the nursing staff on 4 - North and ICU at the Shannon Medical Center for attending our mother with compassionate care during her hospital stay.
