Guadalupe "Lupe" Cortez, 76, passed Tuesday, April, 14, 2020, in San Angelo. Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Due to the current health crisis in our community and the directives given by State and Local Governments, we must abide by the directive limiting gatherings to 10 people at a time. Private graveside services will be Friday at Calvary Catholic Cemetery with Father Josh Gray, pastor at Sacred Heart Cathedral, officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mrs. Cortez was born June 24, 1943, in Brady. Lupe married Emilio Cortez on July 4, 1959, in Brady. He preceded her in death on August 17, 2004. Lupe worked for A-Plus Custodial Services at Goodfellow Air Base for 20 years retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Survivors include four daughters, Sylvia Diaz and husband Albert of San Antonio, Linda Tovar of San Angelo, Diane Herrera and husband Rick of Corpus Cristi, and Brenda Beaudry of San Angelo; two sons, Sammy Cortez of San Angelo, and Patrick Cortez and wife Victoria of Dallas; three sisters, Sara Cortez of San Antonio, Yolanda Richardson and husband Roger of Nordin, Oklahoma, and Alice Moreno of San Angelo; four brothers, Johnny Moreno and wife Janie of Dumas, Rudy Moreno and wife Elaine of Dallas, Joe Moreno and wife Lucero of Dallas, and Roy Moreno of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
