Guadalupe "Lupe" Leon, 67, of San Angelo passed away at Shannon Medical Center on Friday, November 27, 2021.
Viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 30, 2021 and from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Rosary will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 2, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joey Faylona, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Leon was born on June 26, 1954 in San Angelo to Isabel and Isa Gonzales. She attended school at Central High School in San Angelo. Lupe married Joaquin Leon on May 29, 1993 and he passed away on April 28, 2018. She worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant for Shannon Medical Center for over 20 years. She enjoyed family time, spending time with her grandchildren, dancing, and her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving.
Lupe was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Tony Menchaca, her sister, Martha Menchaca Flores, and her grandson, Tahj Braxton.
Lupe is survived by her eight children, Pennie Braxton and her husband Troy of Yuma, Arizona, Eric Rocha of San Angelo, Deanna Garcia Rocha of San Angelo, Noel Leon and wife Sasha of San Angelo, Robert Leon and wife Paula of Brownwood, Martin Leon of Ponder, Joaquin Leon Jr. and wife Sandra of San Angelo, Racquel Torres and husband Oscar of Ponder; a brother, Horace Menchaca Jr. of Virginia Beach , Virginia; 21 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews including her extended Aguirre family.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ty Hughston and the doctors and nurses of Shannon Medical Center.
