Guadalupe Medina Rios, 91 of San Angelo, passed away Thursday July 9, 2015 at his residence. Rosary will be 7 PM Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 AM Monday, July 13, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Services are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Lupe was born on December 9, 1923 to Basilio and Teodosia (Medina) Rios in Ballinger. On November 30, 1943 he married Alicia Gonzalez in Acuna, Mexico. Lupe was a family man who loved his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved football; especially the Dallas Cowboys and he enjoyed his game pots. Lupe loved his wife Alicia more than anything. He was a "jack of all trades," he could fix anything with tape, the "Mexican MacGyver." Lupe always enjoyed playing pool, dancing, mechanic work, and any outside tinkering he could find. He was preceded in death by: parents, wife, sons Ruben Rios and Mario Rios, daughter Carmelita Rios, brother Cresencio Rios, sister Lila Cuellar, grandsons Mario Rios, Jr. and Bobby Clayton, granddaughter Cindy Rojas, and great-grandson Zachery Rios. Lupe is survived by: sons Hector Rios and wife Gloria of San Angelo, Rudy Rios of San Angelo, Johnny Rios and wife Nelda of Grand Prairie, and Joe Luis Rios and wife Rita of Hope Mills, NC; daughters Mary Clayton of San Angelo, and Alicia Rios of San Angelo; brothers Maximilliano Rios, Gonzalo Rios, Trinidad Rios, and Armando Rios; sister Josie Vargas; 26 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 20 great great-grandkids.
