H. R. "Tooter" Adkins

H. R. Adkins (Tooter) Sr. Gone but not forgotten, our beloved H. R. Akdins (Tooter) went to be with the Lord on Sunday December 21, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Viewing will be 8am to 8pm on Monday December 22, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Miles Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Roger of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. He was born July 25, 1934 in San Angelo to Horace and Lilly (Lawler) Adkins. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and PaPaw. Tooter owned and operated Adkins Welding and had a passion for country music including his band, "Texas Heartbeats". He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Leonard Adkins and a beloved daughter, Brenda Adkins. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Adkins; children, Ray and wife, Judy Adkins of San Angelo, Billy and wife, Tena Adkins of Austin and daughter, Teresa and husband, David Rosser of Seguin, 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Keele of Weatherford and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Conway and nurse Michelle and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the loving care shown to our family.
