HAROLD JOHNNY BETTIS

Harold J. Bettis, 86, of San Angelo passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at his residence. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the Resthaven Memorial Parks Cemetery in Midland, Texas with Minister Ed McCorkle of the Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Harold was born November 25, 1919 in Paden, Oklahoma to John and Mary "Molly" Bettis. Harold was an Army Veteran and worked as a tool pusher and driller for numerous years. He married Mary Little Herrington on January 18, 1975. They lived in Mertzon and ran a pecan farm for 22 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and first wife Inez Johnson. Survivors are his wife, Mary Bettis of San Angelo; step-son Larry Herrington both of San Angelo; daughter Kim Hunter and husband, Kenny of Arkansas; step-son Sandy L. Herrington and wife, Carol of Las Vegas, Nevada; one granddaughter Megan Hunter, two step-grandsons David and Robert Herrington; sisters Jean Smith of Celeste, Texas. and Jewel Barfield of Elk City, Oklahoma and one Brother, Carl Bettis of California.
