Harold "Gene" Crabtree

Harold E. "Gene" Crabtree, Sr., 82, of San Angelo, TX passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at a local care center. Family visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Charles Smith officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Gene was born on March 18, 1931 in Cumberland, MD to Chandos E. and Audrey (Barnes) Crabtree. He attended the Alleghany High School after which he joined the US Air Force where he served his country for over 21 years. After retiring from the Air Force he settled in San Angelo and worked for the Mitsubishi Aircraft Co. and SESCO. Gene is a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. Gene married Pauneece Webb on February 1, 1953 at the Immanuel Baptist Church here in San Angelo. Gene was preceded in death by his parents. Gene is survived by his wife of 60yrs Pauneece Crabtree; son Gene Crabtree, Jr. and wife, Elaine; son David Crabtree; daughter Pat Long; daughter Vickie Crabtree; son Charles Crabtree and wife, Marsha all of San Angelo; sister Retha Celia of Pompano Beach, FL; sister Joyce Snyder of Cumberland, MD; twelve grandchildren and sixteen & a half great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Regional Cancer Treatment Center, Baptist Hospice and the Hope House. Amanda, Eugene and I send you a very special thank you.
