Elmer Foch Harris, 89, went to be with The Lord on Thursday, June 05, 2008. Elmer was born Oct 14, 1918 in East Texas where lived during his childhood years. After moving to San Angelo he worked at Mustang Chevrolet and later worked for his brother-in-law, Arnold Weathersbee at Weathersbee Electric. Elmer was a kind and gentle Christian man who loved people. He was an active member of The Business Mens Bible Class for many years. He worked as a volunteer at the food bank for several years. He was also active as a Mason in Lodge #570 for many years. Elmer was a ham radio operator for over 50 years and held the call letters W5FZY until his death. W5FZY is now a silent key. Elmer was preceded in death by sisters, Opal Weathersbee and her husband Arnold, and Hazel Kennedy and husband Kent; and a brother Lee Harris. He is survived by 2 nieces, and a host of friends and special friends Alex and Sylvia Papoutsas and Carolyn Abbott. A special thank you to Carrie Hallman who Elmer referred to as ‘his special angel' for her faithfully transporting him to and from various medical appointments. Memorial Services will be held Saturday June 7, at 1:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral Home chapel, followed by burial at Lawnhaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Business Men's Bible Class and his brothers of Masonic Lodge #570
