Hazel Faris St. Clair

HAZEL FARIS ST. CLAIR Hazel Faris St. Clair, 96, of San Angelo passed away on January 31, 2017 at Shannon Hospital with family at her side. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5p - 7p on Friday, February 3rd at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 4th at Fairmount Cemetery with (Dr. David Currie or Rev. James Mitchell) of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Hazel was born in Kingsland, Texas to Terrell (Wad) Faris and Elsie Moore Faris on March 31, 1920. She graduated from Llano High School and attended San Angelo Business College and San Angelo Jr. College. She worked at Central National Bank for 34 years, retiring as Vice President. Hazel married Nelson W. St. Clair on December 24, 1939. In 1950 they were blessed with a daughter, Terry Joy. Known for her straight talk and great sense of humor, she was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church, served on Governor's Commission on the Status of Women and the Airport Advisory Board. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband in 1981; her daughter in 1999; her parents; three brothers, Wayne, Bill and James Farris and two sisters, Lahoma White and Nancy Lawrence. She is survived by her two grandsons, Stephen J. Wolslager and his wife Jimmie of El Paso; Joseph Wolslager, Jr. of Arizona; a great granddaughter, Meagan Cassles of San Antonia; one sister, Gail Hogan Childress and her husband Jim of San Angelo; two brothers Larry Farris and his wife Elaine; and Eddie Farris of Kingsland. Her sister-in- law, Cora (Bill) Farris of La Feria, Texas. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Jeremy Farris, Nicky Farris, Dr. Dean Perkins, Jay Staats, Jim Childress and Tony Speciale.
