HELEN ALVEDA MADDUX

Helen Alveda Bledsoe Maddux, 92, of San Angelo has gone home on March 16, 2006 in her home in San Angelo, Texas A reception will follow the services to celebrate her life in the Fellowship Hall at the Unity Church of San Angelo, 5237 South Bryant Boulevard. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home Chapel with the Chaplain Roger Roenfeldt of Vista Care Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Alveda was born March 31, 1913 to Arthur and Mattie Bledsoe in Irving, Texas. She graduated from Texas Womens University, Denton, Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her artistic works were noted for the authenticity of the area and of the old masters. After her graduation, she was awarded a full scholarship to further her studies in art in California. Alveda was married to Doyle C. Maddux and was the loving, devoted mother of four children. Later in life she worked as a designer for Home Interiors & Gifts for thirty years which she truly loved assisting with decorating the homes of many throughout the area. Alveda is preceded in death by her loving parents, Arthur and Mattie Smith Bledsoe and her devoted stepmother, Alice Bledsoe; her siblings David C Bledsoe, Mary Elizabeth Madden, Charles Courtion and Lou Morgan and her husband, Doyle C. Maddux, who passed away on his 92nd birthday, March 6, 2003.
