Herbert "Herb" Minzenmayer, Sr., age 95, of San Angelo passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Herbert was born on February 15, 1913 in Winters, TX to John and Olga Minzenmayer. He was a farmer for many years before retiring. Herb enjoyed life to its fullest. He loved riding his motorcycle across the USA, making one of his last trips to Las Vegas at the age of 92. Herb also loved to sing and dance. He met his present wife, Connie Candelari, while dancing one night at the Manor. They married on August 19, 2005 here in San Angelo. Herb was a true domino Ace enjoying playing dominos anyone who join his table to play. Herb was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Verline Minzenmayer. Herbert is survived by his wife, Connie Minzenmayer of San Angelo, TX; son, Herbert Minzenmayer, Jr. of Burkeville, TX; four step-sons, three step-daughters, granddaughters; Sherry Flanery, Tracy Hairston, Kristy Snelgrove and their spouses, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Harris, Joe Warren, Aubrey Faubion, Bennie Williams, Jesse Smith and Calvin Schovajsa. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Hall, Grady Capp, Gene Clardy, John Piland, Jim Gilmore and all his motorcycle riding friends.
