Ila Earlene Barton

Ila Erlene "Skipper" Barton, 95, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018, in San Angelo. Public Viewing will be from 9:00 Am to 8:00 PM Monday, December 17, 2018, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Fairmount Cemetery with Earl Barton, Skipper's son, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mrs. Barton was born December 4, 1923 in San Angelo. She married T.J. Barton on August 14, 1945 in San Angelo. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2016. Skipper was a resident of Miles since 1986 moving from Midland. She was a Methodist. Skipper was an avid reader, artist, enjoyed cooking and baking wedding cakes. She loved to be in her garden, being in her pecan orchard and being outdoors. Skipper loved being with and providing for her family. She is preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Buck and a grandson, Evan Barton. Survivors include her three sons, Jeff Barton and wife Nancy of McKinney, Earl Len Barton and wife Nanette of Ft. Worth and Jack Barton and wife Geri of Midland; a sister, Irene "Ikey" Thames of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Holly, Gary, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Whitney, and Kacey; Two great grandchildren, Emily and Julian.
