Ireland Calreen Jenkins

Ireland Carleen Jenkins, 91, of San Angelo, passed away on January 28, 2014 in a local care center. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014, in Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, with Pastor Cleve Kerby officiating. Visitation will be held 4-6:00 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Services entrusted to Robert Massie Funeral Home. She was born on August 31, 1922 to Bernard and Alma (Biggs) West in Weatherford. Ireland worked as a Cotton Analyst for South Plains Cotton COOP. She married Ocie Jenkins September 2, 1939 in Brownfield and they resided in Lubbock until her move to San Angelo in 1994. She moved to the Rio Concho West and became a member of the Johnson Street Church of Christ. Ireland is survived by: two sons, Orvie Conn Jenkins and wife, Elizabeth, and Curtis West Jenkins and wife, Jana, all of San Angelo; three grandchildren, Beth Harrison, Ricci Whitlow, and Brent Wesley Jenkins; six great-grandchildren, Mandy Rodriguez, Kathleen Ireland Jenkins, Riccay Harrison, Aubrey Ward, Sterling Whitlow, and Jon-Marc Whitlow; and two great great-grandchildren, Jalyn Hamilton and Gavin Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, and her siblings: Wayne West, Ruby Clary, Wyona Wall, and Warren West.
