Irene Duke Martinez, 85 of San Angelo went to the Lord on Saturday February 9, 2013. Rosary will be 7:00pm Wednesday February 13, 2013 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00am Thursday February 14, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father David Herrera, officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Irene was born October 20, 1927 in Miles, TX., to David and Lupe (Lujan) Duke. She was a housewife. She married Ramon Torres Martinez in San Angelo, TX., on June 14, 1947 and they shared 42 wonderful years until his death on April 30, 1990. Pallbearers will be Oscar Duke, Manuel Ortegon, David Duke, Robert Martinez, Ernest Perez and Danny Duke. Honorary Pallbearer is Harry Perez. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, a brother, David Duke 2rd, and three sisters; Lydia Flores, Alice Duke and Amelia Torrance. Survivors include a daughter; Margaret Erdmann and husband, Ken of Orange Co. CA., four sons; Richard D. Martinez and wife Anna (BB) of San Angelo, Raymon D. Martinez 3rd of Pensacola, FL., Victor Martinez and wife, Gaynor of Edinburg, TX., and David M. Martinez and wife, Nora of San Diego, CA., fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, stepmother, Letha Duke of Big Spring, TX., and numerous nieces and nephews.
