JACK THOMAS DEHNEL

Jack Thomas Dehnel of San Angelo has passed away on November 6th. He was born February 12, 1920 to Paul E, Dehnel and Ava (Rutledge) Dehnel. He was the third child of a family of 8 boys and 3 girls. In 1947 he married Elizabeth Spradling in San Angelo, Texas. Jack was skilled with tools and worked in Civil Service during and after WWII. In 1989 he retired from GTE. Jack loved the land and cattle and has kept cattle as long as he could. Services will be graveside only with Pastor Lakan Mariano of College Hills Baptist Church officiating at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2008 with Robert Massie Funeral Home providing the services. His wife Elizabeth preceded him in death in 1993 and his second son David (Tommy) Dehnel in 1996. He is survived sons John Dehnel, Steven (Buzz) Dehnel of San Angelo, and by daughter Mary Gerbasi and husband Don of Ambler, PA. Also surviving are 6 brothers Raymond Dehnel and wife Novella of San Angelo, John Dehnel of Fairfax, VA., Paul Dehnel and wife Connie of Lakeway, TX., Martin Dehnel of Washington, DC., Robert Dehnel and wife Doris of Grape Creek, TX., Curtis Dehnel and wife Karen of Killeen, TX. By sisters Elizabeth McKinney of Dallas, TX., Margaret Crook of Jupiter, FL., and Helen Swartz and husband Frank of Lewisville, TX. He is also survived by his grandson Craig Dehnel and wife Laura of San Angelo, TX., and by his granddaughters Christie Duckworth and husband Brad of Birmingham, AL., and Heather Allison and husband Jason of Bickendorf, Germany. He also has five great-grandchildren. The family wants to recognize lifelong friends Pearl Motl, Robert (Bob) Wilson his wife Nadine and children Bobbie, Johnny, Roger, and Gail; also Dr. Dwain Dodson for their support and friendship for so many years. He commented on many occasions that his life had been good and how he loved his wife "Molly". May he rest in eternal Peace. The family asks that those who attend the service to dress casually.
