On Sunday March 16, 2008, Jack Ronald Mundell was reunited in Heaven with his parents, Myron and Katie Mae Mundell, his son, Ron Mundell and numerous family members and friends. Visitation will be 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Tuesday March 18, 2008 with family visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Robert Massie Funeral Home A celebration of his life will take place at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 20, 2008 in Tucumcari, New Mexico at Dunn's Funeral Chapel with the Dr. Rev. Tom Broom of the Center Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Cemetery. Local services are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Jack was born August 25, 1927 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Dad loved life, appreciated nature and his family always came first. To share his love was a blessing. Jack is survived by his children; Jim Mundell and his wife, Deb of San Angelo, Doug Mundell and his wife, Tracy of Nara Visa N.M.; and Cynthia Jan Mundell of San Angelo; Sister, Emily Corey and her husband, Charles of Evergreen, Colorado; Brother, Jerry Mundell and his wife, Joann of Camp Verde, Arizona; Grandchildren, Blair Mundell, Clay Mundell and Seth Mundell, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and friends Dwayne Hathaway and Kathy Whittley. Before his retirement, Jack was a well respected oil and gas landman, rancher, teacher and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He graduated with a degree in languages from what is now The University of Texas at El Paso. He received numerous awards and always achieved his goals. Jack always said his biggest accomplishments in his life were his children. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dad's caregivers; Carmen Robledo, Irma Carrasco and Letty Ramirez, Dr. Hardwick, Dr. Escobar and Vista Care Hospice and last but not least "Dad's Angels" at the Runnels County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Alzheimer's Unit. Pallbearers will be Seth Mundell, Clay Mundell, Craig Corey, Richard Corey, Mark Corey and Kenneth Mundell. In lieu of flowers; the family requests memorials be sent to the Runnels County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Alzheimer's Unit or a charity of your choice.
