JAMES LOUIS (JIM) WALKER

James Louis (Jim) Walker passed away on February 16, 2007. He was born February 21, 1926 in San Angelo, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Walker. Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 20, 2007 at 11:00AM, in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Dr. Casey Heilman of Community Hills Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. After graduating from high school in San Angelo, James attended Central College in Fayette, Mo. in the Navy V-12 program. He served over much of the Pacific during World War II on the USS Briton. After the war he attended Texas Tech University. He married Anna Louise Taylor, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Y.P. Taylor on May 25, 1947. They were the parents of two children, Johnny Louis and Carol Ann. James worked for many years in his dad's grocery business before joining G.T.E Directories, Co. in August of 1961 and moved to Lubbock, Texas, where he lived for 13 years. James was promoted to District Telephone Sales Manager and moved to Bloomington, Il. After 12 years in Bloomington, James retired and moved his family to Corpus Christi, Texas, where he and his son Johnny, were in the insurance business. He and his wife moved back to San Angelo two years ago. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sisters Mary Pauline Underwood and Stella Juanita Walker, and his granddaughter Renee Staggs. He is survived by his wife Anna Louise, his son Johnny L Walker and wife Sherry of Corpus Christi, his daughter Carol Ann Staggs and husband Roger of Lubbock, his grandsons Johnny L Walker, Jr of Odessa, Brent Staggs and wife Elaine of Lubbock, his granddaughter Janice Shaffer and husband Jim of Odessa, and his great grandchildren Hailey Marie Shaffer, Hannah Grace Shaffer, Jacob Staggs, and Ryan Staggs.
