JEANNE WHITAKER

Jeanne Whitaker, 84 of San Angelo died Friday October 9, 2009 at an area hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday October 12, 2009 at the First Baptist Church Chapel with Associate Pastor Ronnie Laughlin, officiating. Graveside services will follow at 5:00 PM Monday October 12, 2009 at the Gaines County Memorial Cemetery in Seminole, Texas. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Jeanne was born Wilma Jeanne Whitaker to F.S. and Gladys Fair Whitaker on June 21, 1925 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. She devoted her life to teaching. Jeanne worked at the Gloretta Baptist Assembly for 21 years from 1957 to 1978 when she retired. She continued to be faithful and was teaching the Challenger Sunday School class at First Baptist Church until her death. Survivors include her aunt; Wilma Barrentine, of San Angelo, three nieces; Janna Bartosh and her husband, Michael, of Ft. Worth, Paula Twilley and her husband, Carl of Arlington and Norma Eaves and her husband, Andy of Keller and a nephew, Michael Eaves and his wife, Carol of Arlington.
