Jesse "Stickhorse" E. Carr, 74, of San Angelo, passed away Monday, January 30, 2006 in a local nursing home. Family visitation will be held at 5-7:00 PM, Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Roger Roenfeldt officiating. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Stickhorse was born November 20, 1931 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Clarence and Jessie Lounetta Carr. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Lauren Carden. Stickhorse served in the US Army, worked at the Austin Steel Co. in Houston and Poor Boys Fruit Market in San Angelo. The family would like to say a special thank you to Vista Care Hospice and Cedar Manor Nursing Home and Rehab. for the love and compassion they gave in Jess's final days. We appreciate all of you. We are proud to note on Jesse's behalf that he was only four days shy of his 33rd year of sobriety, 12,045 days- one day at a time- he counted each and every one.
