JIM T. SKILES

Our beloved Jim T. Skiles, 78, of San Angelo went to be with the lord on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2008 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Reverend James Mitchell of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Garden. Jim was born in Snyder, TX on April 24, 1930 to Charles and Mollie Skiles. He joined the U.S. Army on July 29, 1947 where he spent the next twenty years serving his country in the intelligence community. He spent time in Germany during the occupation and served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Jim married Frieda Joyce Daniels on July 27, 1952 in Rockwall, TX. Fifty-five years later, he remains the love of her life. After retiring from the Army, Jim managed San-Tex Advertising. He was also very proud graduating A.S.U. with a B.A. in History in 1978, the same year as his daughter, Jamie and husband, Kerry Rainey. Jim was preceded in death by seven siblings and a nephew, Roy Skiles. Jim is survived by his wife, Frieda Joyce; daughter, Jamie Rainey and husband, Kerry all of San Angelo; daughter, Teresa Pina and husband, Bert of Abilene; daughter, Dawn Sanders and husband Jim, of Amarillo; sister, Oneta Moore of Grape Creek; grandchildren, Brandon, twins Tiffany and Shawn, Austin, Manuel, John Michael; several nieces and nephews along with beloved great-grand dogs Winston and Oz. The Skiles family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Demory, the staff at St. John's Dialysis Center, Dr. Noack and her Nurse Lela for their devoted care.
