Joanne Davis

Joanne Davis, 75, of San Angelo, passed away on August 27, 2014 at her residence. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2014, 2:00 pm at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, San Angelo, Texas, with Capt. Chaplain Pagan officiating. She was born on January 11, 1939 to W. R. and Mary (Maples) Dawson at Durham, NC. Joanne was a homemaker and worked for many years at SAISD. On July 8, 1956 she married Jesse Davis in Dillon, SC. She loved her kids and grandkids and would do anything for them. She loved her dog; Kobe like he was a member of the family. She was preceded in death by father, W. R. Dawson, mother, Mary Dawson, twin sister, Jeanne Carter and her younger sister, Ellen Norwood. Joanne is survived by her loving spouse of 58 years Jesse Davis, two daughters, Teresa Tigner and husband, Steven of Crowley, TX, Belinda Gatlin and husband, William of San Angelo, TX; two sons, Dirk Davis and wife, Debra of Cibolo, TX, Trevor Davis and husband, Scott Ellis of Austin, TX; six grandsons, Joshua Tigner and wife, Katie of Austin, TX, Brian Tigner of San Antonio, TX, Ryan Davis of San Angelo, TX, Dylan Davis of Cibolo, TX, Mitchell Gatlin of Lubbock, TX, and Bailey Ellis of Magnolia, TX; four granddaughters, Sarah Bethards and husband, Drew of Little Rock, AR, Haley Davis of Cibolo, TX, Joanna Gatlin of Lubbock, TX and Kayla Ellis of Magnolia, TX. In lieu of flowers; the family requests that memorial donations be given to Hospice of San Angelo at 36 E Twohig Ave, San Angelo, TX 76903.
