Joaquin Leon, 67 of San Angelo, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday April 28, 2018 in San Angelo. Joaquin was born in Lubbock to Guadalupe Rodriguez Leon on August 16, 1950 and was raised by his grandfather Dimetrio Leon. He went to school at Thompson High School in Lubbock. He married Lupe Gonzales on May 29, 1993 in San Angelo. He worked as a machinist and shop foreman at Aermotor for 13 years. He loved fishing and spending times with his grandchildren. A Dallas Cowboy fan forever. Joaquin is preceded in death by grandfather, Dimetrio Leon, mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez Leon, grandson, Tahj Braxton and a brother, Johnny Perez Leon. Pallbearers will be Armando Guerrero, Jerry Guerrero, Troy Braxton, Oscar Torres, Jacob Rangel and Tony Joe Turner. Joaquin is survived by his loving wife, Lupe Leon, children, Robert (Paula) Leon, Martin Leon, Joaquin (Sandra) Leon Jr., Racquel (Oscar) Torres, Pennie (Troy) Braxton, Eric (Diana) Rocha, DeAnna Rocha, Noel (Sasha) Leon, twenty grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be 10:00am to 8:00pm Monday, April 30th, and Tuesday May 1, 2018 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Rosary will be 7:00pm Tuesday May 1, 2018 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Wednesday May 2, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Joey Faylona, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
