Joe League

Joe C. League, 87, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his home.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Cyndi Young, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Joe League was born March 18, 1937 in Gilmer to Joe L. and Gertrude League. Joe was a 1954 graduate of Hamlin High School. Joe married Bette Teague on November 18, 1958 in Hamlin. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2019. Joe was a pumper for Fortune Production for 15 years retiring in 2007. He has been a San Angelo resident for 31 years moving from Snyder. Joe was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Scottish Rite member. He was also a cherished member of the Concho Valley Wood Turners Club, whose passion for wood turning and dedication to the craft were unparalleled. His unwavering commitment to sharing his knowledge and skills left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Joe was a loving father and friend. He loved working with wood and watching John Wayne movies.

Survivors include two sons, Joe F. League and wife Paula of Midland, and Jim C. League of Toccoa, Georgia and Karen League of Inlet Beach, Florida; two grandchildren, Cason League, and Gabby League.
