Joe Martinez, 62, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Viewing will be from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Belvedere Cemetery.

Mr. Martinez was born on June 9, 1962 in Tulia. Joey was a beloved member of the Hereford community. He graduated from Hereford High School and spent the majority of his life in his hometown. He was often seen riding his bike or walking around town, while earning him the nickname "Cannon Ball Joey" at the city pool. Joey had a passion for fishing, and cherished spending time with his nieces and nephews. He particularly enjoyed watching wrestling. Known for his big personality, a big smile and a heart of gold, Joey was a well know and cherished figure in Hereford.

Joey is walking with the Lord, eternally at peace.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Johnson and Richard Bacon.

Joey is survived by his mother, Rebecca Martinez of San Angelo; three sisters, Trixie Stephenson, Mary Madrigal, and Jennie Flores and husband Juan all of San Angelo; a brother, Paul Rodriguez and wife Monica of San Angelo; 18 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
