John Andrew Clay

John Clay, 54, of San Angelo went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 29, 2022.

Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM Monday, August 1, 2022 at Robert Massie funeral Home with visitation from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.  Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Harris Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Bush, senior pastor, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Clay was born on November 20, 1967 in Houston to Loran and Louise Ransom Clay.  John has been a resident of San Angelo since 1986.  He married Dayna Rohmfeld on March 14, 2009 in Las Vegas.  John worked for Optical Prescription Service for 33 years, retiring in 2022.  He was a member at Harris Avenue Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the finance committee and taught in the children’s ministry. John was a Cub Scout dad and loved helping his boys with the pine wood derby. He served as a den leader, a girl scout dad and loved helping Mallory sell her girl scout cookies.  He loved spending time with his family, putting puzzles together, building model cars and constructing Legos.

John is preceded in death by his father Loran Clay and his stepfather, Jackie Young.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Parker Clay, Carson Clay, and Logan Clay, all of San Angelo; two daughters, Savannah Keane and husband Joey and Mallory Clay, both of San Angelo; two grandchildren, Grayson and Hensley; and his mother, Louise Young of San Angelo.
