John Gonzalez Hernandez Jr.

John Gonzalez Hernandez, Jr., 72, of San Angelo, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in San Antonio. He was born on November 6, 1945 to John and Rosa (Gonzalez) Hernandez in San Angelo. John owned and operated, AAA Rain Gutters, the largest rain gutter company in the state of Texas, during the 1980's. He enjoyed the outdoors being an avid fisherman and spending time with his family. John never met a stranger and always had a joke to tell. He was preceded in death by parents; John Sr. and Rosa (Gonzalez) Hernandez and a granddaughter, Jessica Alcala. John is survived by five sons, Johnny Hernandez, III and wife, Jennifer; Donny Grissom, Daniel Cardenas, Michael Cardenas, Henry Candela; three daughters, Lory Hernandez Escobar, Jeannette Minjarez, Karla Cardenas all of San Angelo; brother, Andy Hernandez of Costa Rica; eight grandsons, Nathan Martinez, Zachary Martinez, Johnny A. Hernandez, Aiden Grissom, Braiden Grissom, Rio Candela, Jacob Alcala, Kourt Don Turpin, granddaughter, Katalina Candela and his special friends, Janie Cardenas and David Cardenas. COME TO ME God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away, and although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. John's wishes were to be cremated after his service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Duarte and Dr. Cummings along with the ICU staff of Shannon Medical Center for all the love and care shown to, John. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
