JOHN "SONNY" PHARR

John "Sonny" Pharr, age 74, of San Angelo passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2006 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Jim Wilkerson of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Chaplain Mike Andress of Hospice of San Angelo officiating. Burial will follow in Belvedere Cemetery. Arrangements by Robert Massie Funeral Home. John was born on October 23, 1931 in Ozona, TX to Claude and Daisy McClendon Pharr. He married Barbara Swindell on June 29, 1955 in Casa Grande, AZ; she preceded him in death on July 16, 2004. John worked as a tire technician at the Goodyear Tires plant for over 34 years before retiring. John is survived by his daughter; Stacy Austin and husband, Robert of Big Spring, TX, son; Ricky Pharr and wife, Brenda of San Angelo, TX, sister; Roselle Westbrook of Mineral Wells, TX, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
