Johnnie Hedrick, 70, of San Angelo, passed away Friday, May 25, 2007 in a local hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Family visitation will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2007, from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm at Robert Massie Funeral Home. An additional visitation will be Friday, June 1, 2007, from 6pm to 8pm at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Rising Star, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Higginbotham Funeral Chapel in Rising Star, Texas at 11am Saturday, June 1, 2007, with Brother Max Pratt of the 9th Street Church of Christ of Ballinger officiating. Burial will follow at the May Cemetery in May, Texas. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Johnnie was born July 31, 1936 in May, Texas to Carl W. Hedrick and Beulah Robertson. She attended school at Williams until her senior year and graduated from Ozona High School in 1954. After high school she moved to San Angelo and worked at Monarch Tile for 10 years. She then went to work at Levi Strauss, where she retired from after 32 years. Johnnie was never married nor had children of her own but she was like a mother and grandmother to the nephews and nieces in the family. She was always there to help out in anyway she could. She loved to travel. She was just so much fun to be with and you always knew you would have a good time when you were with her. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Beulah Hedrick, and two sisters Lois Hardy of May and Lena Hord of Fort Worth. Johnnie is survived by two brothers, Roy Hedrick of Monmouth, Oregon and Cecil (Jake) Hedrick of May, Texas, and two sisters Leatrice Copeland of Brownwood, Texas and Carletta West of Ballinger, Texas.
