Joseph William Blanek, 76, of San Angelo, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2005 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Pastor Francis Strother with the Christian Renewal Center will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sterling City Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Joseph was born April 15, 1929 in Union Town, PA. He moved to Sterling City at two years old and graduated from Sterling City High School. Joseph went into the Restaurant business in 1949 in Sterling City. He opened the Log Cabin Steak House in 1956 and later operated for forty-six years the Dunbar East Restaurant. Joseph was so proud he'd say "Good steaks need no sauce". Jody, daddy, paw-paw is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret of San Angelo. Sons: Harry Blanek and Melodye of Waco Bill Blanek and wife, Bethany Kenny Blanek and wife, Jeannie Charlie Blanek and wife, Isabel Daughter:Sherri Blanek All Of San Angelo Brother:Harry Blanek of Dallas Sister:Frances Garner and husband, Edwin Of San Angelo Twelve grandchildren who were much loved and cared for by their paw-paw. He enjoyed taking the children to feed the ducks, showing them movies and fixed play houses. Pallbearers will be sons, Harry, Bill, Kenny, Charlie and grandsons, Jason and Josh. Honorary pallbearers are Ken Flannary, G.T. England, Bill Stuard, Joe Warren, Ronnie Sloan, Bernie Stuard, Lacy Oldham, Bill Smith, Bill Briley, Norman Fullerton, Bob Leverette and Larry Hooper.
