Joseph Edward (Ed) Crumbley, 91, of San Angelo passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006 in a local hospital. Family Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at Robert Massie Funeral Home with Rev. Don Seigler of the Harris Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be held at the Marion Cemetery in Lohn, TX. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Ed was born near Voca, TX on July 27, 1914 and spent early life in the community of Waldrop, TX. He married Mabel Fowler on December 24, 1936 in San Diego, CA. He was a member of the Harris Ave. Baptist Church. He was employed by General Dynamics Aircraft for 25 years, having supervised the building of Airplanes such as the B-26 and B-32 bombers during World War II and the Experimental B-36. After retiring from the aircraft industry, he owned and operated a ranch near Stephenville, TX. He later moved to Alpine, TX where he and his wife were volunteers and active in the Rio Grande River Ministry of Texas. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Mabel Crumbley of San Angelo, one son Don Crumbley and wife, Mary of Chula Vista, CA.; four sisters Marjorie Caldwell of Mt. View, AR; Nadine Kamin of Arlington, TX., Evelyn Frances Mc Daniels of Bridgeport, TX., and Alma Lee Martin of Paradise, TX.; one brother, Clarence Crumbley of Paradise, TX; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. The family requests memorials be made to Sagecrest or Baptist Memorial Center.
