Jovita C Gutierrez

Jovita C. Gutierrez, 100 years old, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021, in Houston.

Mrs. Gutierrez was born December 15, 1920 in Matamoros, Coahuila, Mexico and became an American citizen in 1952. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sewing, cake decoration and gardening. She also loved to sing and listen to music.

Survivors include two daughters, Yolanda Moya Huerta and husband Felix Huerta, and Olga C. Moya; 3 grandchildren, Jacqueline R. Williford and husband James, David A. Huerta and wife Dr. Jessica, and Chris Sanborn and wife Tammy; and 4 great grandchildren, Jessica R. Ali and husband Zu, Patrick H. Mendoza, Ender Huerta and Coraline Huerta. Jovita was preceded by husbands, Carlos Moya and Modesto Gutierrez, and a son-in-law, Ira Sanborn.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, 402 Rio Concho Drive, San Angelo, with Rev. Beatrice Flores, pastor of Nazareth Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
