Julia Tatum Schneemann

Julia Tatum Schneemann, 79, of San Angelo, passed away on December 6, 2014 in San Angelo after a 35 year battle with cancer. A family visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held for the family. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Julia Tatum Schneemann was born in Lubbock, Texas to Claude and Pauline Tatum on September 29, 1935. She later moved to San Angelo and graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1953. She attended Texas Tech University and married Arnold Schneemann Jr. on August 25, 1956 in San Angelo. Julia was a homemaker and a loving mother of three children and a second mother to many others. She later became a Teacher's Assistant with the Small School Co-op for Special Needs Children. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority where she held many offices and recently received the Golden Circle Certificate for 50 years of dedicated service. She also served Meals on Wheels for the Elderly, helped with the March of Dimes, a dedicated supporter of her husband, and very active in all school and social activities of her children. Julia Schneemann is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Arnold Schneemann Jr., her parents Claude and Pauline Tatum, and her brother Claude Lewis Tatum. Julia is survived by her children Karin Landers and her husband Michael, Tony Schneemann and his wife Tracy, and Andrew Schneemann and his wife Debby, Sister Joann Biggs, and grandchildren Anthony, Savannah, Greg, Garrett and Kyle Schneemann. The family of Julia wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Raj Cheruku for his years of care and friendship, Hospice of San Angelo for their care and compassion, the Ladies of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for their help as well as all of her friends for their help in our time of need.
