Julianna "Judy" M. Niemann, 70, of San Angelo passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 16, 2006 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Father Greenwell of Holy Angels Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be held at 10:45 AM, Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Judy was born January 6, 1936 to Rudolph and Julia Klester in Sharon, Pennsylvania. She was an Air Force Veteran. She met and married Donald Niemann, while proudly serving her country on August 23, 1958 in Lackland, AFB in San Antonio. Judy was an extraordinary person, a loving wife and mother; protective, nurturing and very strong. Judy was a Columnist and a devoted community advocate. She was a very important part of the continuation and success of the Reach to Recovery program. She became a Reach to Recovery Volunteer, for the American Cancer Society, in November 1994. In 1996, she completed her training and provided a professional guidance to the new and "seasoned" volunteers. Judy was also a member of the New Timers Association, the Editorial Board at the Standard Times where she contributed monthly articles and a "Friend of the Library" at ASU. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving son Edward Niemann. Survivors are her husband and best friend Donald Niemann of San Angelo; grand-daughter Deanne Niemann of Carrabelle, Florida; grandson Benjamin Niemann of North Carolina; and a great-granddaughter Mallory Niemann of Carrabelle, Florida. Judy's love, dedication and passion will be incredibly missed by her family and friends.
