June Brooks Hicks, of San Angelo, was born in Refurio, Texas, to Marjorie and Louis Brooks on October 25, 1940. On Friday February 19, 2016, she went to be with the lord. June was a proud Baylor alumni where she got her degree in accounting. She was an active member of Sierra Vista Methodist Church. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church, San Angelo, Texas, with Tamara Strehli, associate pastor, officiating. She is survived by her loving family. Her husband James Hicks of San Angelo. Her daughter, Holly Irvin and her husband Guy of Abilene, Texas. Her step-daughters Deborah Bird and her husband Tim of Salt Lake City, Utah. Jacque Adams and her husband Tommy of Ridgecrest, California. She is survived by many grandchildren and a great-grandchild, and many cousins. June met her loving husband, James, while in Albuquerque, New Mexico. James and June fell head over heals in love and were married on May 28, 1977. After a few years, the couple settled down in Dumas, Texas, then later moved to Pampa. It was there they stayed until retirement and moved to San Angelo in 1996. Their unwavering love and devotion is a testament to their children and grandchildren of a strong marriage. June's loving personality and charismatic take on life will live on through those she leaves behind. She will be missed everyday, but our temporary goodbye will be met with a much greater existence, with her, for eternity.
