JUNE DRISKILL STANFORD

June Driskill Stanford, age 82, of San Angelo passed away on Monday, February 11, 2008 at her residence. Family visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church with Dr. Ken Dahlberg officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. June was born on June 15, 1925 in Mullin, TX to Jess and Edna Driskill. She was a homemaker, devoted mother and grandmother, known as "Mema" to her grandchildren. She married Robert "Gene" Stanford on January 13, 1944 in San Angelo, TX., who preceded her in death on March 30, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Stanford; brother, Bob Driskill and a sister, Wanda Fullwood. June was a longtime member of the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church, where she taught 2nd grade Sunday school for 31 years. She did volunteer at San Angelo Community Medical Center Auxiliary for 25 years. June loved working with people. She never met a stranger. She loved to "visit" with lifelong friends and recall many memories. She is survived by daughter Patti Gregg and husband, Kyle of Orlando, FL; brother, Jolly Driskill and wife, Sammye of Tuscola, TX; brother Modie Driskill and wife Helen of Angleton, TX; sister, Jean Driskill of Lubbock, TX; sister, Mary Lou Sponable of Angleton, TX granddaughter, Lori Gregg of San Angelo, TX; granddaughter, Lisa Gregg of San Angelo, TX. Pallbearers will be Terry Stanford, Denis Gregg, Steven Smith, James Martin, Gregg Hagelstein and Bryan Hagelstein.
