Karla Anne Lewis

Karla Lewis Karla Lewis, 59 of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 14 after a courageous battle following her lung transplant. Viewing will begin at 9:00 am Friday March 16, 2012. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday March 16, 2012 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Jesse Aguire, officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday March 17, 2012 at Cienega Cemetery with Randy Rakes officiating, in Cienega, New Mexico. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. Karla was born July 16, 1952 in Hugo, OK to Arthur and Dorothy Gettes. Later she was adopted by the Benton family and raised in Odessa. Karla was a nutrition coordinator for the recreation department of the City of San Angelo. She also was a bus driver for Grape Creek and SAISD for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband; Coby Lewis, daughter; Shawna Lewis, both of San Angelo; sons, Coger Lewis Jr., of La Grange, Jeffery Lewis and wife, Michelle of El Paso; grandson/son; Matthew Lewis of the family home in San Antonio; other grandchildren; Jacob Lewis, Madison Lewis and Jordyn Lewis, all of El Paso; sister and best friend Kayla Moseler, who stayed by her and Coby's side during so much of the testing and transplant process and recovery; nephews.
